Step 2: Set Up the Breading Station
- In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In a second dish, whisk the eggs until smooth.
- In a third dish, place the panko breadcrumbs.
Step 3: Bread the Shrimp
- Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
- Dip the shrimp into the beaten eggs, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Press the shrimp into the breadcrumbs, coating evenly. Set aside on a plate. Repeat with all shrimp.
Step 4: Cook the Shrimp
Air Fryer Method:
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap.
- Lightly spray the tops of the shrimp with cooking spray.
- Air fry the shrimp for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Traditional Frying Method:
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels.
Baking Method:
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the breaded shrimp in a single layer and spray them lightly with cooking spray.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until crispy and golden.
Step 5: Make the Buffalo Sauce
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the hot sauce, melted butter, honey (if using), and garlic powder. Stir until well blended and heated through.
Step 6: Toss the Shrimp in Buffalo Sauce
- Place the cooked shrimp in a large bowl.
- Pour the Buffalo sauce over the shrimp and toss gently to coat evenly.
Step 7: Serve and Garnish
- Transfer the Buffalo shrimp to a serving platter.
- Garnish with green onions, crumbled blue cheese, or fresh parsley as desired.
