  • ½ cup Caesar dressing (or ranch, as an alternative)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning

For assembly:

  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough feels too sticky, add a tablespoon of flour at a time.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Step 2: Cook and Shred the Chicken

  1. If using raw chicken, season it lightly with salt and pepper and cook in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes per side.
  2. Once cooled, shred or dice the chicken into small pieces.

Step 3: Cook the Bacon

  1. Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy.
  2. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess grease. Crumble the bacon into small bits once cooled.

Step 4: Make the Filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, crumbled bacon, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, Caesar dressing, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Stir until evenly mixed.

Step 5: Assemble the Chicken Bakes

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a rectangle about 8×6 inches.
  3. Place a generous scoop of filling in the center of each rectangle, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  4. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, sealing tightly to form a log shape. Pinch the seams and place the seam-side down on the baking sheet.
