Roast the Garlic
- Prepare the Garlic: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the top off the garlic bulb to expose the cloves. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of salt. Wrap the bulb in foil.
- Roast: Place the wrapped garlic on a baking sheet and roast for 30–35 minutes, or until the cloves are golden and soft. Let it cool slightly before squeezing the roasted garlic out of the cloves into a small bowl.
Prepare the Hot Honey
- Make the Honey: In a small saucepan, warm the honey over low heat. Stir in the red pepper flakes and smoked paprika (if using). Let it simmer for 1–2 minutes to infuse the flavors. Remove from heat and set aside.
Assemble the Garlic Butter
- Mash the Garlic: Mash the roasted garlic into a smooth paste.
- Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, olive oil, mashed roasted garlic, garlic powder, oregano, and smoked paprika. Mix until smooth and spreadable.
Prepare the Bread
- Slice the Bread: Slice the baguette or Italian loaf in half lengthwise, creating two long pieces. Place them cut-side up on a baking sheet.
- Spread the Garlic Butter: Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
Add the Cheese
- Layer the Cheese: Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the garlic butter layer.
Bake the Garlic Bread
- Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Broil for Crispiness: For a golden, crispy topping, broil the bread for an additional 1–2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
Serve
- Drizzle with Hot Honey: Drizzle the warm hot honey over the cheesy garlic bread.
- Garnish and Slice: Sprinkle with fresh parsley, slice into portions, and serve immediately.
