For the Quesadilla Ring:
- 8 large flour tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a Mexican blend)
- 2 cups cooked, shredded chicken, ground beef, or sautéed vegetables
- ½ cup salsa or taco sauce
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp cumin
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
For the Dipping Sauce:
- 1 cup sour cream
- ½ cup guacamole
- ½ cup salsa
Optional Toppings:
- Chopped fresh cilantro
- Diced tomatoes
- Sliced jalapeños
Instructions
1. Prepare the Filling
- In a large bowl, mix the shredded chicken (or your chosen protein), shredded cheese, salsa or taco sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, and cumin. Stir until well combined.
2. Assemble the Quesadillas
- Lay out one tortilla and spread about 2–3 tablespoons of the filling evenly over half of it. Fold the tortilla in half to create a half-moon shape. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
3. Create the Ring Shape
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Place a small oven-safe bowl or ramekin in the center of the baking sheet to act as a guide.
- Arrange the folded quesadillas in a circular pattern around the bowl, overlapping slightly to form a ring.
4. Secure the Shape and Bake
- Brush the tops of the quesadillas with melted butter to enhance browning and flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy, and the cheese is melted.
5. Prepare the Dipping Sauce
- While the quesadilla ring is baking, prepare the dipping sauces by spooning sour cream, guacamole, and salsa into separate sections of a serving bowl or dish.
6. Serve and Enjoy
- Remove the quesadilla ring from the oven and transfer it to a serving platter, keeping the center bowl in place.
- Garnish with cilantro, diced tomatoes, or jalapeños if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy as guests pull apart the wedges and dip them into the sauces.
