Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 packet (1 ounce) ranch seasoning mix
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Optional Topping
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with nonstick spray or a light coating of olive oil to prevent sticking.
Step 2: Prepare the Chicken
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
- Rub each piece of chicken with olive oil, ensuring an even coating on all sides.
Step 3: Season the Chicken
- In a small bowl, mix the ranch seasoning, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and black pepper.
- Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the chicken, pressing gently to adhere.
Step 4: Arrange and Bake
- Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C). For even cooking, check the chicken halfway through and rotate the baking dish if necessary.
Step 5: Add Optional Topping
- If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese over the chicken during the last 5 minutes of baking. Allow it to melt and create a gooey, flavorful topping.
Step 6: Rest and Serve
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to retain its juices.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately with your choice of sides.
