Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prep
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray or a thin layer of olive oil.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and place them in the prepared baking dish.
Step 2: Season the Chicken
- Drizzle the chicken breasts with olive oil, then sprinkle garlic powder, smoked paprika, thyme, salt, and black pepper evenly over both sides.
Step 3: Make the Cream Cheese Topping
- In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), minced garlic, and parsley. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
Step 4: Assemble the Dish
- Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the tops of the chicken breasts, using a spatula to create an even layer.
- If using optional toppings like crumbled bacon or diced spinach, sprinkle them over the cream cheese layer.
Step 5: Bake the Chicken
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) and the cheese topping is golden and bubbly.
Step 6: Garnish and Serve
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with extra parsley for a pop of color.
