  • Author: Sophia
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 pound (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup (100g) panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

  • ½ cup (120g) mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1 teaspoon honey or sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice (optional)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds
  • Fresh cilantro

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp

  1. Rinse the shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Lightly season the shrimp with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Set Up the Breading Station

  1. Place the flour in a shallow dish.
  2. In another dish, whisk the eggs until smooth.
  3. In a third dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Step 3: Bread the Shrimp

  1. Dredge each shrimp in the flour, shaking off any excess.
  2. Dip the shrimp into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is fully coated.
  3. Press the shrimp into the breadcrumb mixture, coating it evenly. Place the breaded shrimp on a plate. Repeat with all shrimp.

Step 4: Preheat the Air Fryer

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.

Step 5: Cook the Shrimp

  1. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
  2. Spray the tops of the shrimp with a light coat of cooking spray for extra crispiness.
  3. Air fry the shrimp at 400°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 6: Make the Bang Bang Sauce

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth and well combined. Adjust the spice level to taste.

Step 7: Toss and Serve

  1. Once the shrimp are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl. Drizzle the Bang Bang sauce over the shrimp and gently toss to coat.
  2. Serve immediately, garnished with green onions, sesame seeds, or fresh cilantro if desired.
